Why ASEAN is leading the industrial robotics adoption race?

Countries in ASEAN are adopting more robots into their daily workforce. The ASEAN nations occupied six of the top seven positions in the ranking, according to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR). Rounding off the region is Singapore with 488 industrial robots per 10,000 workers, well above the global average of 74 industrial robots, American average of 84, and European average of 99.

In Thailand, the IFR predicted a growth rate for Thailand’s automation and robotics sector that corresponds to the fourth largest growth rate across the globe and the highest in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). According to the Thai government, there is a need to increase workforce productivity to save the economy.

Also, tax policies are implemented to provide incentives and advanced technology adoption in some Southeast Asian nations. In Singapore, companies in the manufacturing and equipment services industries have chances of receiving investment allowances for projects along with depreciation allowances.
